Guitar Video Series 008

It is Friday and as of 2011 I am posting regular Friday articles for the Guitar Videos series.

2010 covered many of the main acts for acoustic players in Australia and major hitters on YouTube but since Christmas I have been scouring the internet for repertoire, arrangers and performers of the acoustic guitar. I am pleased to say that there is a large number of quality players and performers, but what is even more exciting is when I come across a guitarist who performs and sells his own transcriptions. Shaun Murray of http://www.shaunmurray.biz/ is a great performer and equally fine arranger.

When I came across his Youtube Channel I saw a clean and melodic performance of David Bowie’s Life on Mars & Queen’s Somebody to Love. I found his arrangements to be great repertoire for gigs as well as HSC student performances.
