I come across many inspirational guitar videos for my students and myself. Furthermore, as a guitar teacher I am constantly looking for new repertoire, arrangements or riffs. Especially when in comes to HSC time in Australia.
This new feature called the Guitar Video Series, will be a glimpse at some extraordinary performers/arrangers and I will endeavour to link their TABS, Guitar Pro files or websites should you wish to learn the pieces as well!
Starting with a fantastic rendition of Imogen Heap’s “Hide & Seek.”
This guitarist, Antoine Dufour, is part of a label called Candyrat Records and they have some amazing talent. They also offer their music for sale as MP3’s with sheet music in PDF or Guitar Pro formats from the TABS section of their website.
Another guitarist from the label called Candyrat Records is Andy Mckee.
All I can say is WOW when you see his arrangements and performances. A few of my students have already learnt some of his works (Drifting, Rylnn and Africa by Toto). Check out this video of his arrangement of Africa by the group Toto. It is beautiful.
Lastly, this guitarist has been all over Youtube and I even find myself hearing his recordings at teaching conferences in Australia while people are chatting! Sungha Jung is an exceptionally fine performer and arranger who has even been graced by the presence of Tommy Emmanuel. Need I say more!
