I blogged about my complete teaching resource for Reason back here in October, but since then Reason 6 has come out and it is another new adventure!
In this post I am giving away my Reason Education Unit to anyone who wants it. I completed this as a Masters Project in 2011 and I feel strongly that if teachers knew what was possible regarding advanced music software in the classroom, they would be more excited about implementing it and teaching with it.
So, without much further ado, here is my Project Based Learning Book, Video tutorials and Project files for Reason PBL Creations 2011.
The following links are for my publication of PBL Creations. A Complete tutorial manual for starting out in Reason with
PDF Workbook
Project Files (Dial One)
Project Files (Dial Two)
As you go through the booklet you will find lesson plans that link to video tutorials, marking rubrics, visual instructions and listening maps for students to discover how sound is manipulated within Reason.
It is important for students to analyse the included works using the provided listening maps as this is how they will absorb/imitate/learn the skills needed for making music with MIDI & Audio.
Project Based Learning Tutorials that accompany tasks in the book:
• Reason Video 06
• Reason Video 07
• Reason Video 08
• Reason Video 09
• Reason Video 10
I would be very interested to see how you use these resources in your own teaching so please leave me some comments below.
Or better yet, post your students compositions and evidences of learning to me! I could review them for you and make it a collaborative learning experience.

Hi Samuel!
It looks great. Nice work. I’m going to feature it in an upcoming post on my blog (about teachers who are sharing curriculum ideas and class projects online).
Katie
Thanks Katie. I appreciate it!
You’re incredible generosity continues Sam. You share so many wonderful resources for music teachers to learn from. I very much admire what you’re doing.
