A masterful and musical player, I first ran into Cary Lewincamp when I was on my honeymoon in Tasmania, Australia. My wife and I were walking through the Salamanca Markets when we came across a guitarist, holding a uniquely made guitar with 7 strings and playing lovely chord style passages with weaving melodies. I had to buy his albums and since then I have kept a close eye on his website.
Cary was born in Tasmania in 1952 and loves to make music! His lastest album A Fresh Wind is a collaboration with Etsuko Sakai for Guitar & 13 String Japanese Koto, available here with MP3 samples. Cary’s other albums are featured below and each has MP3 sample tracks at his website.
Cary also has sheet music to purchase and download from his website.

Have just come back from a weekend in Tassie for a friend’s wedding and ran into this guy at the Salamanca Markets. Quite beautiful music, and his 7 string guitar is an artwork in itself. A really likeable fellow, good for a chat on a Saturday morning in the markets between his songs. I would imagine him to be vert spiritual.
