In May 2006 Create Digital Music Site wrote a post on the free online orchestration source Principles of Orchestration. This was originally a work written by the Romantic composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (known for Flight of the Bumblebee or Scheherazade) and published posthumously in 1922. It has now been turned into a flash, interactive course with audio samples derived from the Garritan Personal Orchestra suite. The score examples, combined with the audio samples really bring his orchestration approach ‘to life.’
